Professional Development Presentations for Educators

Tens of thousands of educators use Haiku Deck for professional development presentations, training, and other events. This section includes a few great examples of work we’ve seen from members of our community as well as a couple of time-saving templates for promoting and recapping EdCamp events.

Haiku Deck Guru Simon McKenzie created this first example. As Simon explains: This deck, along with the Ken Robinson speech, will be a PD Presentation to a group of 70+ high school teachers. The aim will be to ‘provoke’ teachers to adopt a new approach to technology integration.” This presentation has speaker notes accompanying many of the slides. To see these notes, view the presentation at the Haiku Deck site via this link: The New Mind Set.

This second example was created by Mindi Vandagriff, and has over 1000 views on the Haiku Deck. Mindi used Haiku Deck to visually represent her take-ways from the International Society of Technology in Education conference 2013. To see the presentation at the site, use this link: My ISTE 13 Gems

Another great example of use for professional development can be seen in Fiona Harvey’s “Developing Digital Skills” presentation which was presented at the Maghreb Digital Learning & Education Innovation conference. In this presentation, Harvey discusses using students as partners to develop digital skills.

Haiku Deck also offers a variety of useful templates that can be easily copied into your own account and then edited. One example is this one for promoting an EdCamp event. This is easily shared via social media, embedded in a blog, and emailed to potential participants.
