Updated iPad Presentation App Introduces Premium Imagery, Powerful Storytelling Features
Seattle, WA — June 4, 2013 — Haiku Deck, in its continued quest to transform presentation creation and sharing, announced today an expanded library of stunning, high-quality imagery through a new partnership with Getty Images, through its Thinkstock offering. Getty Images, the leading provider of digital media worldwide, will make more than a million premium images seamlessly available for purchase within the free Haiku Deck iPad app.
Haiku Deck, proclaimed the “Instagram for pitch decks” by Mashable, launched in August 2012 and has topped charts in productivity in 50+ markets around the world. The app’s focus on empowering people to easily create beautiful, image-rich presentations has inspired a passionate global community of creative communicators from a wide range of disciplines. A central feature of Haiku Deck is its powerful, integrated Creative Commons image search, and today’s update–which brings professionally curated premium imagery into the mix–opens up exciting new possibilities for visual storytelling.
“Pictures, above all, grab our attention and connect with our emotions, making stories vivid and ideas memorable,” said Adam Tratt, co-founder and CEO of Haiku Deck. “We are thrilled to enhance the breadth, quality, and variety of our image selection through this partnership.”

Haiku Deck’s focus on design and visual communication for an increasingly mobile, connected audience places it in the company of Instagram and Pinterest, the fastest-growing social networks, as well as emerging apps such as Vine and Paper. Haiku Deck brings the visual trend to presentations specifically, aiming to transform text-heavy slides into the more minimalist, image-rich style embraced by celebrated communicators like Steve Jobs, Seth Godin, and Jeff Bezos.
“Now more than ever, people are communicating visually, whether they’re in client meetings or representing their brands on a larger scale,” said Peter Orlowsky, Vice President of Business Development for Getty Images. “Our partnership with Haiku Deck will help their users gain easy, legal access to high-quality imagery, bringing Thinkstock content to an audience who understands the value of being impactful.”
Haiku Deck 2.1 Now Available
Haiku Deck 2.1, also released today, showcases premium images from Getty Images in its image search results along with a number of new features designed to make image searching and visual storytelling faster and more powerful. The app now includes the ability to save favorite images for future use, backtrack to view previous image selections, and import images directly from albums as well as personal image collections on Instagram, Facebook, Flickr, and more. Three new professionally designed themes offer expanded design choices, each with a unique image filter and integrated color palette.
Today’s release rounds out the app as a powerful end-to-end presentation and storytelling tool, with private notes that can be used as a personal teleprompter during a presentation and public notes that can be published to the web along with the slides to provide additional detail and links to supporting resources.
