    Thanks for this guide.

    I use the iPad app regularly and often want to paste a slide from one deck into another. I can’t seem to figure out how to do it — but it seems like an obvious thing to do. Can you help?

    • HI Gary — Thanks for the note! This is something on our list, and we hope to get to it soon. In the meantime, you might try saving images as favorites and using the iPad text copy-paste functionality to make your slide creation faster.

  2. I need to move a slide that I cannot see because the thumbnails have extended off of the page. How do I do that?

    • Hi Kim — I’m sorry you’re having trouble seeing the thumbnails. Could you try using your scrollbars to see if you can scroll to view the thumbnails? You can also try to zoom your browser out; this can be different depending on which browser you’re using but usually you can click on VIEW and Zoom in the menu.   3. i need to delete a slide from my deck how can i do this please help.

    • Hi Rachael — On iPad, in Edit mode, just tap the settings gear on the slide, then tap Delete. On the Web, in Edit mode, hover over the slide and click Delete. Let us know if you have further questions!

  4. My images appear brownish (sepia tone) Settings are ON Commercial Images only, should I also turn on : Use auto-capitalization & Show premium images too? Previous decks-no issue? thanks sandy

    • Hi Sandy, sorry about that! It’s probably the image filter for your theme. Try tapping the THEMES drop-down tab in the top center of the window when you’re in edit mode for your deck, and turning the image filter off with the toggle there. If it’s still not resolved, drop us a line at support@haikudeck.com!

  5. I need help. I’m on a computer, I updated and changed my deck, but its not saving. I am worried I’m going to lose my information and hard work for my school project. It won’t save on my parent’s computer either.

    • Hi Jordan, sorry we didn’t see your comment until now! Are you still having trouble saving? Try changing the theme, waiting for the thumbnails in the slide tray at the bottom of the page finish saving, then switch back to the original theme you were using.   6. i need help please. i started my project at my friends house and i came home to fix some things, and i did that all on my ipad. and today i was supposed to present it to the class and then i relized that it didnt make the changes. i came home and its still the same as i left it on my ipad. and now i am using a computer and i went to go look at my slide and it wont load anything… and im thinking that its because im not using a certin internet like google chrome…. so i need help why cant i fix it on my computer?

    • Thanks so much for the love, Adam! It is possible that we may come up with different types of payment plans for more advanced and extra features; this is something we’re working on so stay tuned!

  8. I was wondering how you cut from another document and paste to haiku? The font size transfer to microscopic size.

    • Hi Bill, are you copying and pasting a lot of text? Our app will automatically resize your text to fit, so the more text you add, the smaller the text will become. If you haven’t seen this yet, we have a newer text layout for multiline text. We recommend this option for slides with more lengthy text: https://blog.haikudeck.com/new-text-and-layout-options/

      If you’re still finding that the text is too small, we recommend breaking up the text into multiple slides and focusing on one idea per slide.

  10. Hi!
    I’m using Haiku Decks with elementary aged students. Would selecting commerical photos only help eliminate the “inappropriate” pictures?

    If so, I’m not finding how to change the setting using the web. Is there a way to change without being on an iPad?

    Also, my students are all using the same account. Do I have to go into each Deck and change each one’s setting or can I do it all at once?

    • Hi Alicia,

      Thanks for writing to us about this!

      Selecting the option of “commercial images only” will filter out any images in the search results that are not meant for commercial use, and will reduce the amount of images that you see in your results; it may eliminate some inappropriate images, but it’s not exactly meant for that purpose.       We do already have image filters in place to prevent inappropriate images from showing up in search results, but since our Creative Commons images are pulled from Flickr, our filters don’t always catch everything.         Can you tell me how I go about changing the settings to turn on commercial pictures on the web. I don’t see the settings wheel to adjust that.

        • No problem! Unfortunately there isn’t a way to do this on the web, but you can do this on the iPad. Our apologies for any inconveniences this may have caused you!

  11. Hello, made my first deck, really liked HD, saved it, tried to post the link via FB, twitter, email etc.. Kept coming up with 404 Page Not Found error. So frustrating! Any suggestions?

    • Hey Paul! I’m so sorry you’re frustrated. That sounds like an issue with privacy settings. If your deck is set to private, it will show up as a 404 error. Our latest iPad update (v3.3.2) has a bug that makes setting privacy options confusing. We have submitted a fix to apple which we will release as soon as it’s approved. Until then, if you’re using the that version of Haiku Deck on iOS8.1.1, you want either the top or middle privacy setting (in spite of how it’s labeled).

      • Ah! Thanks, Adam. That probably explains it. Originally, when testing it, set it to Private (only me) and sent myself a link…which worked. Then reset it to Restricted so I could send the link to friends and colleagues…which didn’t. Currently on the move so can’t try it out, but hopefully all will be well.

    • Sorry for the trouble, Kristen! This is an iOS bug that our team is aware of and are working on fixing. This is mainly due to having private notes saved in your deck. If you have private notes saved in your deck, I recommend removing those and adding them to the public notes area, if you’d like to keep those notes and move them back at a later time, and try presenting again.

    My text is not showing up on the haiku deck slides when I try to present. Any suggestions?

    Can see text on iPad, but not on smart old via Apple TV. Only images are showing up.

    • I’m sorry for the trouble! This is an iOS bug, related to having private notes saved in your deck, that our team is working to fix. In the meantime, we recommend removing any private notes you have saved (you can copy and paste them into the public notes area if you’d like to keep them to move back at a later time), and try presenting via AppleTV again.

  15. The My Pictures link is not responding when I click on it (web version is my only option). What can I do to upload my own photo background?

  16. When clicking on the fonts/theme tab, it will display the font I want from it on my slide when I select it, but the theme does not. Unless the theme (pictures) already with the fa=onts aren’t supposed to do that? I’m knew to the site :/.

    • The themes only impact the fonts/image filters for your deck. To change the pictures on your slide, use the blue image button in the editor. Click the “?” button in the app for more help.
